The 1916 Project Film Viewing
Join us for Movie Night in the sanctuary for this special viewing of “The 1916 Project”: see the trailer at the1916project.com.
The film addresses Margaret Sanger’s eugenic ideologies that influenced Adolf Hitler, Planned Parenthood’s founding, and mainstream society’s views regarding abortion.
“We’re showing this film to inform our communities — many of whom have been targets of execution,” said PRPC Pastor Grant Van Leuven.
The 1916 Project documents the legacy of Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood, and her significant ties to the eugenics movement targeting marginalized groups — especially non-whites, the poor, and those with disabilities — as disposable populations to decrease by means such as forced sterilizations. Through thorough historical research and expert analysis, the film addresses Sanger’s profound altering of and enduring impact in society. See this WORLD Magazine article for more background about this film and and Margaret Sanger; and click here for an exhaustive study about her mentioned in the article.
According to the film’s producer, The White Rose Resistance — a national movement committed to confronting the American church about abortion and inspiring action, Planned Parenthood is “the linchpin of our decaying nation with a scandalous agenda.”
The PRPC film viewing is co-sponsored by the Pregnancy Care Clinic (PCC) with offices in El Cajon and San Diego: see unplannedparenthood.org. Rev. Van Leuven served on PCC’s steering committee to establish its Alpha Street location near the church where one of his daughters volunteers.
The White Rose Resistance was founded by Seth Gruber after the overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022 to revive the Christian mission of Hans and Sophie Scholl who were condemned and executed for exposing the actions of the Third Reich. Visit thewhiterose.life.
Refreshments and Fellowship to Follow in the Fireside Room. Attendance is free. Walk-ins are welcome but an RSVP is appreciated: call Denise at 619-840-7888.
